Yes - but you MUST get the sender to select shared charges, and it's worth checking on the thread above to see if your bank is one of the nasty ones that hit you with a charge.
Seriously... people using this method correctly are reporting fees of only a few pence. Beats paypal! My TV is broken!

I don't have any use whatsoever for euros though especially as euro accounts are themselves usually subject to a banking fee in the UK. Therefore, I think we must take it that transfers in from overseas are not free in all cases, and it was that conclusion that persuaded me to remove foreign bank transfers as an option on my auctions.
Paypal may charge but at least it is relatively straight forward *and* I understand my charges in advance and can factor that in when setting my starting price.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. When I do get funds from over seas I tell the person that I require x pounds sterling and that is what appears in my bank. I have always got the full amount. When I have send money abroad I have always instructed my bank to pay x amount in the currency and they convert that to GBP and that days exchange rate and take that and the fee to send from my bank there and then.
By the way I bank with LloydsTSB0 -
