Good evening my fellow money savers - I'd like to pick your brains if I may.
I had an accident a couple of weeks ago, car has been repaired through the insurance company and returned today. I'm not 100% happy with the result - one problem is the colour match of the paint. The right hand side of the cars panels have been replaced and resprayed but they don't seem to match the rest of the car. Its a fairly bright colour so I realise the original parts of the paint will have faded so presume this is the difference. Is it unreasonable to expect all the car to be resprayed so it all matches? any thoughts much appreciated

I had my car returned from a Direct Line repair shop that you could clearly see the bad prep with pinholes all over the wing down to the primer. I sent it back and they redone the job. (Unfortunatley cheap insurance = cut corners).0

Never take your car to one of their 'Approved' repairers. They are just sausage factories.
I learnt the hard way. Had to take a previous car back 3 times to one of Esure's repairers. The first time it had runs in the paint. I could have sprayed it better.
They tempt you with the old 'free loan car' if you use our repairers. Forgo the free car and take it to a small, recommended bodyshop.0 -
send it back as often as you need to. We had two repairs needed and each was sent back at least twice(mostly for completely trivial crap that the garage should have delat with if it had any decent quality control), until you are happy, don;t sign off the repair0

Yes; but they should have been able to blend the paint in. Although they won't be quite the same colour if it is blended properly then you wouldn't know.0 -

Absolutely not. I know someone who, until recently, worked for Dupont consulting on paint lines for car factories. His view was that anyone with the right equipment and training should be able to match the paint very closely indeed - it should be spot on.0
