carpe diem holidays, t.s.promotions. anyone heard of this?

hi everyone
i'm a beginner, so apologies if i 've put this on the wrong place or something!
WHAT'S THE CATCH? HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS:
i've just had an email telling me i've won a holiday!! :j that's not the sort of thing that happens to me so i 'm really sceptical!
it's from 'carpe diem holidays s.l.u.' and it says i've won via a competition from 't.s.promotions'.
i've had a quick google and it looks like the catch is that while we're on the holiday we have to attend a 90-minute seminar with 'no obligation to buy'.
has anyone heard of/experienced this? i'm assuming it's timeshare sales? if it's truly just a 90-minute lecture in return for a free week holiday in the canaries then i can live with that! but is there more to it? or is it a total scam? and what does the 's.l.u' in the name stand for?!
would love to hear anyone's experience/advice? thanks folks! :A

Hello rls1973
Welcome to the MSE site.
Did you enter a competition? If not, it's a scam and you should delete the e-mail immediately.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.............so beware.;)

thanks for the advice..........can't remember if i entered comp or not as i'm always entering allsorts, so i could have?! think i'll give it a miss0 -
Stay as far away from this company as possible.
As posted, they were on T.V recently being shown robbing. They tell you that you are joining a holiday club which you pay thousands and in return you get massive discounts on your holidays at certain places. But the program showed you that in fact the holidays were cheaper in the brochure anyway!!
Avoid at all costs.0 -
thanks for all the advice everyone, i have had chance to google them now and have seen what you mean!! isn't this website brilliant?!
a free holiday........must be like that 'free lunch' thing!!0 -
I have just been contacted by telephone by Resort Point Services saying I have won a random prize from TS Promotions. I then spent 15 minutes listening to a lengthy description of the resorts/apartments etc. Also offered the £195 holiday for a one-bed apartment, with another week free at a later date, but must provide feedback on my return. I, too, do not remember entering a comp (but may have). They have just emailed me the details and a power point presentation. Sounds official but have just read the comments and think I will give it a miss too!0

Thank you all so much for writing in and making people like me aware of TS Promotions. I had a call last sunday saying i had won a two weeks holiday ,one week in tenerife and one week anywhere in the world. I was told that i would have to pay £195 adminastration fee and when i asked about the flights i was told not to worry as they use three company and they would be cheep fares! They must have rung me about 30 times now in one week, i have let them ring me as its not my phone bill!! Reading the comments on this site i thank you all for comfirming my thoughts. Now when they ring me again i will have great pleasure in letting them know what i think of them!!! cheers guys0
