Bank charges unreal!

I went over my bank account by 7p! Yes 7p, and was charged £15 by the Bank of Scotland :mad:

I mean, I know there is a lot of information on here about bank charges, and there is lots of threads about it, but it's shocking!

Two family members of mine have accounts with Royal Bank of Scotland, their charge? £5!

How the hell does it cost a bank £15 to tell you, you are over your balance? :mad:

The £5 fee for RBS is for unpaid items, not the overdrawn fee.
Unfortunately, it will trigger a charge as soon as you go into an excess on the account. All I can suggest is that you call them and ask them to remove the fee as a gesture of goodwill.

I would just state that you haven't had any problems before, and ask them if there is an way that they would be happy to remove or reduce the charge, given the small excess. At the end of the day, the worst they can say is no.
