Hello everyone
My wife and I are going on holiday next month, and as I have pre-existing health conditions, Iam finding it impossible so far to get travel insurance. Does anyone have info on an insurer who might cover me? I understand that pre-existing conditions will not be covered. But no-one will cover me for everyday things like a slip. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Thank You! :A

Have you tried the companies on moneysupermarket?

I guess they will cover slips if they will cover pre-existing conditions.

Hello, thanks for your reply. Yes I have tried them, but unfortunately they won't cover me. I hate traveling without any insurance, but it is starting to look like I will have to. Thanks for your help.

Ken - try these - I have "found" them but I have not dealt with them or heard anything.

Hi FH Brit, I just got a quote from All Clear, unfortunately it was far too expensive at £486 for 2 weeks. But I appreciate your help none the less.

Obviously do not know what your pre-existing health condition is but if there is an organisation (or charity) that gives advice on your treatment/condition, they(or their members) can usually give recommendations on insurance companies that give reasonable quotes on the condition.
    May be worth a shot

All I can suggest is that you keep shopping around. Worst case is that you will find a company that may not cover your PEMC's, but will cover everything else. Whatever you do, don't travel without insurance however tempting it is.

I had to make many phone calls as companies either wouldn't even quote or wouldn't cover my PEMC. I was going to settle not to have it covered, but I persevered through the list of companies I'd shortlisted.

I finally got cover with www.direct-travel.co.uk at a premium I was happy with. I have never had to claim so can't vouch for that, but they are worth a call.

Columbus Direct often come recommended, but wouldn't quote me. Either would Fortis/Post Office.

There is a list of recommended companies HERE if you have run out of places to try.

Look on page 8 at the way Endsleigh treats pre-existing conditions.

And nothing the industry tries do to us surprises me any more!

I too have a pre existing condition, and was covered by the Post Office last year ( fortis ) but when i went to re-insure with them this year they would not cover me (for anything)
I read some of the threads on here and tried some of the companies recommended for pre existing medical conditions. Endsleigh co.uk was one, and Columbus Direct was another, and.... :j they were both prepared to cover me.... Endsleigh was the cheaper one of the two, but..... they are underwritten by AXA!!!!!!! so wouldn't touch them, because of trouble i have had with them previously. So i went for Columbus Direct and got just a 2week Gold Cover for me and my partner for just £48.73 Magic!!!! And it covers me for not only my condition, but also for everything else on a policy.
Give them a try you may be pleased you did.
    Good Luck
