Were after a new USB Skype phone, ideally cordless for the kids to use, and must work through the USB port.
We have a Topcom 4012 USB DECT phone, which works on Vista & XP, but the new PC is Win 7, and the updated drivers dont work.
We did toy on the idea of a Skype mobile phone, but we live in Cyprus, and used next doors internet, through the laptop, then to the phone to ring back to the uk.
Any ideas anyone.?

Just to mention, there's another type that doesn't need a PC or mobile network but connects to your home wi-fi network:

Many thanks for your reply.
I was in bed last night thinking about this, but were unsure about the cost of these. These would be ideal as i would be able to use any wireless network i could get access too to make a telephone call.
So that could be a hotel lobby, next doors shared internet or even free Wifi hot-spots in the local pubs/bars.
Its a shame they dont have a dual sim phone, instead of carrying around 2 handsets.0 -
Why don't you just go and get a cheap PAYG handset from your local 3 store.
That will give you free access to make / receive Skype calls anywhere, not just when tied to PC.
You do not even have to top them up with any credit to use the Skype facilty.
** Just read post fully, so ignore mobile phone option.0 -
Just spoke to friend who uses the Belkin phone in previous post, he says it works very well and has had no problems.0
