Dog ''loo''

I have been considering one of these type of products:

but I am haunted by the memories of one my parents had stinking and not working properly. Also because I have very big dogs, who ''produce'' a lot, I'm concerned that the 'bin'' part s too small. I thought replacing that part with a larger thing, like a plastic bin with holes drilled into it, might be a better idea, has anyone tried this?

I don't know - I had one of these several years ago - only I never got round to digging the hole for it... stayed in the cupboard till I moved house, then I got rid! Sorry... not much use at all, I know!

I used to have one, and it failed mieserably to cope with an ETT and a Tibetan Spaniel, so I haven't bothered to get one for 2 Great Danes.

LOL, yes, mine are far from chihuahuas and certainly not constipated! Hmm. anyone any success with this sort of thing?

Oh God, I had one of these many years ago - the memories still make me break out into a cold sweat to this very day. It never worked properly, stunk to high heaven and my husband used to have to stir the contents with a stick to try and break it down. It never dissolved into the ground, just sat and festered for years. Imagine a Korma sauce - with the smell of dog !!!!!! and you get the idea. Local flies loved it though.

Today I use poo bags, tied up and and put into a small bin in the garden - these are then disposed of on a weekly basis with the contents of the rabbit hutch.

I have 2 for a golden retriever its always worked with no problem (had them for a few years). The biggest problem people have is because its not sighted in the correct place. It needs to be in a warmish area that is well drained. If you don't get the positioning correct it wont work which is where I think most people get problems

Thanks. I think that you need/use two for one medium-large dog rules it out for me..as I have more than one very large dog an am probably getting a third.
