Help! Ruined bathroom sink

Hi all
I need some urgent advice before my OH finds out! I've just dropped a sharp/heavy item in the bathroom sink and it's chipped the ceramic glaze. Couple of questions. Will the chip get any bigger? Is there anything I can use to "patch it up" without it looking patched-up? It's an ordinary white ceramic sink.
Thanks.

It's really quite hard to patch without it being obvious.
I'd take the option I would have done as a child. Engineer a complex situation in my head, involving a pet (if you have one), friend (who your OH doesn't know too well), or possibly act of god, and then absolve all blame that way.0 -
Claim it on your house insurance if you have accidental damage or see if you can get a replacement sink from ebay or local hardware store.0

I doubt it'd be worth a house insurance claim on a standard white ceramic sink.
I'm aware of some kind of sink repair kit, never used one but I'm sure you'd be able to find one on screwfix/ebay or similar. Might be worth trying before you go down the route of replacement.
(but I really really like Cybergibbon's suggestion)0 -
Try 'Milliput', which is available from art supply shops. It will not be invisible though.
