I had some pics on my 512NB xd card but nowhere near its full capacity wss used. As I was going on a pecila trip I decided to off load them from the camera via my Imagenate cad reader. Pics located in removeable drive and I used came up on screen and I used select all> copy and pasted them to the hard drive at my chosen location. I quicly realised that not all the pics were there so went back to removeable. No sign of missing one there either:eek: So whre were they?
Then used PC Inspector to recover jpg images on card but had to select all from those found, because battery failures meant that the dating had sometimes been set to default. More confusion because some finds were preceded by <cluster> Took plunge and saved the lot to hard disk. Result even the ones I got rid of kept on coming back even though they'f been recycle-binned. Only way to get rid was to shred- it took ages. Finally got the missing pics whre I wanted themm but not before I discovered that some thumnails when clicked upon to open or preview were mot of Ronseal quality- what was on the label aka thimbnail was not in the tin-aka preview.
So whre dis all the operation go pearshaped  and why? I've off loaded pics from that card before!

NO; I did what Ioften do, but with a slight variation. Normally it is SelectAll>Copy> Paste; this time it was SelectAll>Cit>Paste.Zahc wrote:Did you cut and paste accidently?
I suupose there is the posiblity that had I used Copy I could have found what had not got across to the hard disk, bu surely if the Cut items had not been transferred properly they should not have been removed from the card reader.
I have wondered if it had someting to do with the xd card's capacity and not what was on it. Here is another application of Dos' Law. The instructions say nothing on the card Reader's capaxity limitations.0
