Cheap playground safety mats? (and checking British Standards compliance)

Hi there,
Finally managed to get a climbing frame on ebay, now trying to find a safety surface which won't cost more than the climbing frame!
Will be next to neighbours' garden and as we have several stray cats and foxes in the garden they've requested we don't put down bark as it may become a fox/cat toilet!
Have been looking at the rubber mats with holes that allow grass to grow through but mostly the prices come to over £400 for the area we want to cover! :-(
Then I found the kindermats.co.uk website, and their prices are around half, while the safety rating seems higher than the others.
Just wondered if anyone has purchased these and if they're any good? And is there any way to check out their claims on compliance with safety standards (they quote BS1177:1998).
Thanks!
Helen

Hello Helen
I know this is quite an old post, but we've also just sorted out a climbing frame and wondered whether you could recommend any matting?
