Will the former Netto customers cope with the drop in quality of product and poor customer service that will come with the Asda takeover- along with the increase in prices?

poor customer service doesnt happen in every store you know and the same for drop in quality, ive used asda and been pleased even though i dont particulary like shopping there

    All about market share !
Co-ops purchase of Somerfield and Morrisons purchase of Safeway both left them still short of 3rd place Sainsbury's market share.

Be careful what we wish for, what sounds good short term will mean less and less options to spend your £ whe n it comes to groceries

I disagree with your opinion that it won't go through due to Asda's large market share. Look at Tesco, they successfully purchased hundreds of One Stop shops and they were already the market leader AFAIK.

Netto have a 0.7% market share which is small, I've never actually seen one of their stores...I guess they haven't made it down south.

I agee with you too, buying Netto won't alter ASDAs position in any way, it won't make them any more powerful and it won't reduce the choice of many consumers.

Might be different if they were trying to buy a bigger player, say Morrisons or the co-op.

Nooooo don't take Netto away :( ! Yes it's scruffy and the carrier bags are hideous but it's the only place you can go and get a trolley full of shopping with your last tenner!
  • i love nettos too. cheap cheese, i bought mature cheese today 400gms for £2. and the ham is cheap and good quality too. i filled my freezer up with chicken a few months ago-very cheap. asda will only change them to asda stores:(. very sad news.
