Hi,
Sorry for the vagueness, but I'm looking to purchase Fluorescent Tubes for my kitchen at home, in terms of suitability, came across 3 outlets but they stock different brands. Prices are about the same, so people who have experience\awareness, please list in order of quality to help me choose:
1)Osram
2)Philips
3)Crompton
Thanks,
Jay

Probably makes no difference really, as they are all made using a long-established manufacturing process in vast quantities.
The tubes last ages.
Would you have asked the same question about incandescent light bulbs?British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Brand makes no difference but you may want to check on their colour temperatures.
Standard white is around 3500K (the most common), warm white 2700K and cool white over 5000K.0 -
I cannot think of any reason for buying one make of fluorescent over another. Especially as there is no way to tell which factories they were manufactured in. If you investigated, you might well find that several makes are made in the same factory. In any event, fluorescent tubes are well known for their longevity. When I choose a new lamp I buy the one that is the correct length, diameter and colour temperature and that is as far as the matter goes.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
