Maternity pay issues/questions

Hi,
Basically - I went on maternity leave on 16th April - my company only does the statutory, 90% for 6 weeks then the stat for 33 weeks.
On 30th April - I got paid, but payroll had messed up and paid my the full months wage, instead of 12days + 2 weeks maternity. However, it worked out, that I only got overpaid by something like £1.50, so the tax/NI/overall net pay worked out to be about what I'd have expected.
I notified my boss about this mess-up on payrolls behalf, and she basically said, "They'll sort it out next month", but didn't say how or what would happen. Does anyone have any idea of how they'll sort it out? I'm worried I'm going to end up paying too much tax/NI this month and basically end up with nothing!
This month I should be on 90% for the full month - £948, so minus tax/Ni, I'll get approx £840. But cos I'm not sure of how payroll will sort out this mess, I'm worried I'll end up with less!

They will probably deduct what you overpaid in salary and pay what they should have in SMP which will leave you short by the figure you quoted. (This will be on top of the SMP owed for May).
However, as suggested why not just ring them?:heartpuls baby no3 due 16th November :heartpulsTEAM YELLOWDFD 16/6/10"Shut your gob! Or I'll come round your houses and stamp on all your toys" The ONE, the ONLY, the LEGENDARY Gene Hunt :heart2:0 -
Because the company I work for is only a small company and sends payroll out to an independent accountants firm! And TBH, I have no idea who that is cos we've recently changed accountancy's. Am due to get paid tomorrow, so will see what happens, and just contact my boss if there's any problem.
I was just wondering if anyone would have had an idea, or if similar had ever happened to anyone else.0
