Hi, just wanted to chip in and say that in terms of DLA its not decided on the condition that you have - its how it affects you thats important. People told me that we wouldnt get DLA for my son's Crohns Disease but he has been much more severely affected than most children. We went ahead and applied and were successful. Do get someone to help you with the forms though, I wouldnt have wanted to do it on my own.

Yes ,I am very confused and frightened when I 'come around'.DH when he sees one says I act like I do not know them and act very scared at seeing them.

Make it clear that you need reassurance when you've come around and talk about other issues that you have. Also when you have a seizure, do you (if you're on the floor - either because you've had one on the floor or been put there) try to get up? And if so, do you hurt yourself or others when you do? Does someone have to try to stop you from getting up? (this happened to my dad - mum had to kick his ankles to stop him getting up and possibly hurting himself)

If you have medication, do you need a reminder to take it?

Yes, people who have been there when I have had a seizure remark on how I attempt to move as soon as I come out of the seizure.
For some reason I become convinced I am late for something and panic greatly, being unsteady on my feet I do tend to get annoyed with myself but also feel incredibly scared convinced I HAVE to be somewhere.

Yes I always need reminding to take my meds ,DH also leaves post it notes on the fridge to remind me of things I need to do or will ring me from work through the day to check on me and remind me of my meds.
I now have a small dose in the morning and larger dose before bed.

It may help you to keep a diary. You will find that some of the questions don't apply to you.
