You only need a card reader if you want to set up a payment from your NatWest account to send money to Barnsley BS via BACS (or FP)
If you want to make a debit card payment.
You need to log into your Barnsley BS account then select "add to savings" from the menu on the left.
You will then be asked for your debit card details. Once you have entered them correctly Barnsley BS will take the money from your current account at Natwest.0 -
Yep - and making initial deposits to EGG with a debit card proved simples for me yesterday when I opened an account with 'em. In fact I thought it was about the easiest account I've ever opened with an institution I don't bank with! It was online and viewable in minutes. You only need a card reader if you want to set up a payment from your NatWest account to send money to Barnsley BS via BACS (or FP)

I don't need the facility but for the benefit of anyone reading this, note that you/I can't transact until identity checks are completed.0 -

Oh Noh, I thought it would be that simple too. I tried and tried and each time was told 'You are unsuccessful' and basically go away and leave us alone. It could be NatWest being uppity and wanting to hold onto my cash of course ...?
Still no card reader arrived anyway.
