Ventilation for kitchen

Hi everyone

Me and OH are buying our first flat, it needs a lot of work. It is basically two large rooms and a bathroom. We want to split one of the rooms into a bedroom and a kitchen, building the wall is the easy bit though. Apparently you must have ventilation in a kitchen legally and the kitchen half has no window and is on the inside of the building. The flat is a top floor tenement, I am not sure if it is possible to get a vent into a tenement building or who could do it or the most cost effective way of doing it? Any help appreciated

Duct extractor fan through an adjoining room to an outside wall (maybe inside fitted cupboards). Or duct upwards and out through the attic and roof. In a tenement the roofspace might be communal so you might need permission from whatever replaces the feu superior now the Scottish land ownership system has been mucked about with.
