Some of these agree with Tarry, but I've added links :)

Bodiam Castle walk along the River Rother. Have lunch in Ewhurst Green at the White Dog Inn in the garden at the rear for the best view of Bodiam Castle. The Chef is excellent and will adapt a dish for a vegan (if it's at all possible) as everything is cooked to order. Not "cheap pub food" prices, but superbly fresh and tasty. Visit the Church before you go, which is 12 Century in origin. Open every day - beautiful interior, calm & peaceful, pretty churchyard.

Bedgebury Forest is a great place for walking and birdwatching. No need to pay to go into the Pinetum, unless you want to. There are excellent hardcore trails throughout the Forest itself. List of Birds found at Bedgebury

Port Lympne is one of John Aspinall's wild animal parks and one of the best IMHO.

An amazing selection of birds, flora & fauna at Dungeness. Yes, the power station is a bit of an eyesore, but no-one will force you to look at it all the time you're there ;):) Anyway, it doesn't dominate the whole landscape and there are plenty of parts of Dungeness where the PS is not even visible! As well as the RSPB centre, there are footpaths across Denge Beach, but the shingle is hard work!!

Sandy beaches are hard to come by as this part of the coast is shingle/pebbles from Sandwich all the way around to (?) Hayling Island I think. Camber is the only sandy beach and has stunning sand dunes too. However, Winchelsea has sand/mud flats when the tide is out. Historically, Winchelsea is a Cinque Port, but the village is now on top of a hill! The village is very pretty and the Church is magnificent - Spike Milligan is buried in the churchyard.

You could combine a morning in Rye with an afternoon in Winchelsea.

I think that might fill a week :)

yes, Camber is the only sandy beach really, it's really strange how all the other beaches are shingle, but Camber just the otherside of the River Rother is sand and only for a bit, until it's shingle again. I also agree with the above poster in what they said.

We would love to have a Vegan meal somewhere, but we are realistic about our chances of doing this so we will look into veggie places but often they don't really get the dairy/egg/cheese free options, but you never know we might get lucky!

http://www.happycow.net/ is what we always use before going on holiday to find the best vegan options in the area.

It would be such a shame if you didn't spend a couple of days in Brighton, there are dozens of places where you can eat, it's really the vegan capital of the UK. Paskins B&B is cheap and does the best vegan breakfast I've ever had.

Our default cheap option for lunch when eating out is chips and beans in a pub, it'll cost £3-4 but will fill you up as much as a main meal that is twice as expensive in many cases. Another option is Pizza Express as they will do a veggie pizza without cheese, look out for the vouchers on this site. The only thing we find is Pizza Express are stingy on the toppings and without cheese they really don't fill you up. Still, it's somewhere smartish to eat out for lunch if you are fed up with pub chips :)

Thanks paul! actually we do intend to have at least a day in Brighton if only to stuff our faces with some vegan food:) we might even go twice, being as we are away for two weeks, you never know might even treat ourselves to paskins ( do they have parking?)

It is hard being Vegan but I often cook up a storm and take stuff with us so we eat quite well, it's just that I have had to do it!
That's why a vegan meal out is such a (very) rare treat, still on the plus side, not eating out is very money saving lol!
