Barclays and RMA - Help please

I divorced and moved and so my barclays a/c was sort of in lingo and the overdraft kept acruing charges. so much so that now i owe 2 1/2 grand. I offered to pay it back at £60 a month and they rejected this, so i got help from credit councelling and submitted my financial statement to barclays who then asked for £1 a month. I wasnt happy, increased it to £5 monthly and set up standing order. I have paid this, but my direct debit for a loan which is near completing, got cancelled by me by mistake and I rung Barclays to reinstate it and also submitted a direct debit mandate. This hasnt been done. Every I write to barclays, I get ignored, I now have recieved letter from RMA saying they are dealing with my debt. But they are so agressive and say that £60 a month is not enough. That is all i can afford

You need some specialist help really with this, mayb e the CAB or CCCS, you have already sent in a SOA so they can see you are not in a position to give them what you dont have, next time they ring tell them you are not agreeing to anything you cannot afford as this is a waste of both your time and theirs, tell them what you can afford maybe send them your SOA again as well, ask to speak to somebody in charge tel them you are not happy with the way you are being treated.
Long and short of it is "eventually" they will maybe take it to county court if so again send in your SOA to the court along with a log of all letters and phone calls you have made so the judge can see you have tried to rectify the situation and it is their unreasonable demands that are causing the hold up, you should be fine county court judges are generally quite sensible people and you will probably end up with a £5 a month or less order.
Im sure someone with a wee bit more knowledge than me will be along soon so keep an eye on this thread, but honestly dont worry too much there is still plenty that can be done
Hope that helps............................"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0
