Nice free walks
Options
There's nothing I like better than a nice free day out (except for the price of one drink) with a good walk through beautiful countryside.
I was hoping other MSE ers could share some of their favourite walks with me.
Mine is over the cliff tops from Nash Point, round to "The Plough and Harrow" old fashioned pub in Monk Nash, and back along the lanes to the car.
I love high, low, woodland, coastland walks and anything else too!!!:j :j

eeeeeeeeeee I haven't got a clue where to start there either.
I'd like probably a 2 hour walk (or thereabouts) and I'm afraid I'll get lost in the wilderness up there!!!Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o0 -
how about the taff trail?
or through bute park and up along the river to the weir?
or coopers fields behind cardiff castle?
or sophia gardens?
walk down to cardiff bay then have a nose around?
along penarth esplanade, up to the cliff tops and then all the way along (you can get to lavernock easily if you know the route..and if you're brave/fit enough walk back up to lavernock road and then home again via the captains wife or harvester)
the long way around cosmeston lakes?
roath park?
the circular walk that connects (IIRC) dinas powys, wenvoe and michalston le pit
why not try the library to see if they have a book on walks in south wales?know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
Ordnance Survey Pathfinder Guides are great. There is one that covers South Wales and the Brecon Beacons. They are all circular walks and are graded according to difficulty and are very accurate in terms of directions and how long/how severe the walks are. They start off with very short very easy walks and end up with the Brecon Beacons Horseshoe. Cost £3-4 from Amazon.0
