Current account that will accept US cheques?

Is there such a thing as a UK current account that will let you pay in US cheques without a vast fee? I often have ebay winners ask if I can take cheques, and I've also been looking into some of the affiliate schemes that put adverstising on ones website or ones that pay for submitting articles, but they all pay out at $25 which is slightly pointless when the average bank will take £8 or more or refuse to cash a US cheque.
In this international climate there must be a sensible answer, I just don't know what it is!

I have a Halifax current account and although they don't shout about it they will take US$ cheques. Each cheque must be worth less than a certain value (can't remember if it was £30 or £50) and as long as the cheques are small they do process them. It can take up to 6 weeks but there aren't any charges.
HTH!
Edit to add - you have to go into the branch and to the counter and ask for International cheque forms. You have to fill one out per cheque and leave the form and the cheque with the cashier. You receive a letter at home from them to confirm it all went through okay.0 -
