Best Bank Account For Saving?

I'm 17 and I'm looking for the best bank account or building society, with the highest interest rate, that my money can go into, but i can gain access whenever I would need it! I've looked around but most of them seem to drop back to the basic rate of 0.5% within a few months
Sorry if this doesn't make much sense!
If anyone has any help or suggestions it's more than appreciated.
Lauren (:

Thats the way things are I'm afraid. To quote Martin, its the "Suck, Slap and Flog" approach. The bank sucks you in with a good 'introductory' rate then slaps it down and finally tries to flog you a similarly named account with an even poorer rate.
You may have to wait until you're 18 for a lot of the accounts, but this is a good place to start http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest

Ok thankyou!
I'm sorted now I think, but your advice did help.
Most of the bank accounts are either no interest of very little at all, so I'm still on the hunt, but I'm just going to keep the account I have open at the minute
and no. I do not have a mouth on my forehead. I just thought it looked a bit daft with two of the same smiley faces.0
