Hi
I have been on long term incapacity benefit since 2002, for a medical condition which will never get better.
It is up for renewal/review on 10th sept'10.
I am really worried with all the changes going on that i will not get my benefit after this date.
I have been in hospital twice last year and am due to see my consultant in june to discuss further treatment to help me live with the pain of this chronic illness.
Does anyone now what will happen, will i be reviewed under the new rules.
any advice
Thanks

You should still be assessed under the PCA, not the new WCA. Have you been sent an IB50 form?Gone ... or have I?0

The migration to ESA is not due until February next year so you should still be assessed under the IB rules.
There is a pilot of the new rules in October but this is just for the Manchester area.0 -
No i have not been sent anything yet.
Will i stand more chance of getting it with the old rules.
i was lucky 5 years agao when i went to a medical assessment as the doctor i see, his neibour has the same condition.
The thing is i look good on the outside but am not good on the inside (iykwim)

Generally the IB test is easier to pass than the ESA test.0 -
It's always a worry isn't it at review time!
But as stated it will still be under the PCA so fingers crossed you will be fine.0
