My daughter has a mobile phone with 3 with internet.

Is there a way when we are out and about to connect the phone to our netbook so she can access the internet?

I've only just thought of this but it would be ideal for long journeys. She has a Nokia 63.

Many thanks!

Once the phone is connected to the Nokia PC Suite, click on "connect to the internet" > "connect" and it should connect on, provided th settings are correct on your phone.

So that would mean the phone would act like a modem to the notebook? She'd rather use the notebook to browse the internet than the phone.

Beware some plans exclude this option (tethering).

As mentioned some plans do exclude this option and it can be quite expensive, however you can often buy a 'bolt-on' for these plans to keep costs down.

yup, i *think* only one provider allows tethering (can;t remember if it was orange or vodafone), others have been known to 'notice' and bill you per MB at their standard/expensive rate leading to bills of several thousand pounds.

Technically very possible but check with your operator / Ts & Cs first if you plan to do this regularly or for video
