One of the FAQ on the Freeview site is:
Have I already got Freeview HD?
Answer: To watch Freeview HD you will need an HD Ready TV (or Freeview HD TV) and a Freeview HD box. So until you buy a Freeview HD product you will not be able to view the HD channels. Look out for products with the ‘Freeview HD’ logo.
Clear something up for me please. If I have a HD Ready TV and live in an area which is broadcasting Freeview HD will I receive Freeview HD directly through this tv OR will I have to add a digi-box of some sort?

no,your TV is 'ready' for HD
but you need to get an HD source
so in your case an HD freeview box
only TV's with built in freeview HD tuners can do it all in one
(unless your TV has a built in HD freeview tuner)0 -
You will need a Freeview HD set top box unless your TV has an inbuilt Freeview HD tuner.
