Ryanair and Prepaid cards

When Martin recommended an electron card for purchasing Ryanair tickets free of card charges I obtained one and successfully used it. It is a Visa card. It is a while since I have booked ryanair and now I see on this site that they are only accepting mastercard prepaid cards on a foc basis. I guess this is yet another ruse by Ryanair to catch us out or have I misunderstood the situation?
