Honda Jazz vibrating when pulling away

I've got a Honda Jazz, which has done about 35k miles in 5 years. I'm not sure how long it has been doing this for, however when pulling away from stationary in traffic for example, the car tends to audibly vibrate/shudder for a few seconds.

I'm just very concerned something may be seriously wrong and I'll be quoted a grand or something to fix it, something I simply cannot afford.

I did find another thread here about a problematic Honda Jazz, and one person mentioned that it vibrating may be something to do with the engine mount, whatever that is.

Any ideas?

Probably be an engine mount or maybe clutch/fly wheel related...?

There is a recognised problem with Jazz gearboxes but not sure what the symptomes are?

Thanks for this. What was wrong with your friends car, are you able to find out? I want to phone my local Honda dealer tomorrow but if I actually had a reason for this 'common fault' it would make it a lot easier!

Can you see your gearstick moving about when you're driving/idling? My car (a Renault) is in the garage today getting a new gearbox mount fitted, it judders while idling/pulling away, and my gearstick moves about while I'm driving too.

I've had the car in 2 garages, and both diagnosed the same thing - gearbox mount.

It's an automatic so I don't think that would apply?
