Hi everyone im new here, so i hope ive posted in the right place.
Today i took delivery of my new leather corner sofa after the men had left i got down on the floor and had a good look round all sections to my horror i found two small tears, three scuffed marks on the leather, one arm has no padding and is causing a dented look and the other arm the padding doesnt sit correctly under the leather so it looks broader than the other arm im disgusted i called them and they told me the service manager will be out to look at it (ive read dfs reviews and this happens all the time they come and try to repair it etc for months on end) but i dont want it repaired i want my money back, so hes coming out tomorrow im wondering if i will loose any rights to a refund by letting him in, they can have the suite back after spending £2500 on it i cant even bear to sit on it.
Id appreciate any feedback many thanks for reading my rant.

Make it clear to him that you wish to reject them as per your right to do so under the Sale Of Goods Act and you require your money back. Then I would back that up with a letter, ensure keep a copy."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

Check the paperwork, contact the company and ask them what they can do. As you should've checked the suite while the delivery men where still there. They would've written on the delivery note what was wrong, and taken it away if you refused to take owenership of it.0

Hi all, well the guy from dfs came today. He came in and asked of course what was wrong with the suite so i told him rather than me tell you what i think your the professional id like you to take a look and see if you can find anything. He was to say the least a little surprised i had caught him off guard he was wanting me to rant and rave but i kept quiet.
He believe it or not grabbed the leather scratched a few bits with his nails then proceeded to lick his fingers to try to rub the glue off bits of the suite it was all i could do to keep quiet if it wasnt damaged before after him digging his nails in it certainly would be. He gave up said he didnt see anything really wrong with it except a few scuffed bits where the colour was coming off and a few small tears so i took him to the back of the suite showing him the saggy leather and also the stitching on the back and the arms of the suite hmmm he said it could be fixed a little steam and i could pull the leather tighter really i said and what about the miss folded leather at the back oh that cant be fixed.
The fact he found a few faults was all i needed i was ready to deal my blow i told him i was rejecting the suite and under the 7 day consumer rights law i wanted a full refund and the suite was faulty, he then tried to convince me to get them to fix it and even offered me a 5yr guarentee, i told him whats the point in a few months i have a saggy suite worth nothing and because i allowed you to fix it i cant get a refund no thanks, after spending nearly £2500 i didnt expect to buy a suite that needed repairing when its brand new so no thanks i reject the suite and want a full refund.
He told me he would speak to the branch manager and he might call me and even offer me compensation i told him to tell the branch manager not to waste his breath im rejecting it and thats that and i have sent two letters today one to head office and one to the branch so i will keep you all posted on how it goes.
Once again many thanks for the help i received0 -
Hi all, well the manager is now coming out to see the sofa, hes told me on the phone its not as simple as telling them to uplift the sofa and get a full refund. In other words he wants to fix it, well looks like im gonna have to take them to court as im not accepting a repaired sofa after spending £2500.
Waiting on him coming now of course i will repeat the sale of goods act over and over just hope it works as i wont be bullied.
If anyones got any advice id appreciate some moral support so i can be prepared for him
thanks all again0 -

My son was in exactly the same position as you, he just stood his ground and refused a repair. Eventually Dodgy Furniture Store agreed to order new ones, which he recived 6 weeks later.
He ordered 2 sofas and a leather stool, DFS replaced all 3 as they couldn't guarantee colour match, he kept the original delivery until they came.0
