Watch out!!! if you gained have 4 years no claims bonus on your car insurance but gained ANY of it while insured with a provisional license, esure will not count it, i gained 13 months of my 4 years on provisional, every insurance company except esure will count it.
they quoted my nearly £1000 with sister company 'first alternative' (not suitable for a guy with a 1.2 litre car methinks), my new policy is less than £400 with my full ncb recognised and protected.
i thought i should warn everyone esure are possibly misleading

I am not sure what you mean by misleading? Insurance companies can decide who they will insure and they will offer you a price and will have t&c like all others. If you don't like the t&c or price then there will be other companies that as you say will recognise your no claims.
esure are one of those companies who insure I believe people that keep costs down by picking and choosing low risk etc.Baby Milk Action is a non-profit organisation which aims to save lives and to end the avoidable suffering caused by inappropriate infant feeding.0 -
I agree, I don't think there's any major cause for complaint here. As Sara said, eSure seem to make a point in their advertising that they are catering for people in 'low risk categories' (I put that in inverted commas as there's a whole other argument whether a 22 year old is any more risk than a 70 year old). And whatever their t&cs are, that's what you have to abide with. You just have to shop around for the best quote, at the end of the day.
Side issue - did you still qualify for the free eSure mouse when you asked for the quote?

Yeah that esure mouse is so cool...
Anyway Esure obviously have the right to pick and choose and as long as their terms and conditions are laid out - no problem. There is no need to run outside

well i am no longer in the 'high risk' under 25's category (i put it in inverted commas because it isn't my words), the issue was that they were categorising no claims bonus in a different way to every other company i have ever spoken to in the past 4 years (must be at least two dozen different companies).
i don't believe i am high risk as:
i am not 17-24 (the ''young driver'' category), or a driver of a high performance vehicle (1.2 litre), or any of the other risk categories, i am eligibale for every other insurance for low risk drivers as every other insurance company classes me as such.
What really got my goat is that they say on their ads ''if you have 4 or more years no claims bonus ring esure'' they even had the bare faced cheek to write to me and say that my insurance renewal was due and i should ring them!!!
what really rubbed salt in the wound was that they sent me the quote for £900 odd, as if i would want it!!!!!
i managed to stay polite on the phone but i don't know how, was asked how much my other quotes were and i said ''about £400 with protected ncb'' which they were.
and no, no mouse. wanted one though, might look on ebay lolthings arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then

I wouldn't bother myself about it, I don't even bother with esure cos they are too expensive.0
