That looks fine. Did you keep the deep cake tins that you bought originally - that doesn't look like the 89p ones? If you did, don't forget that Christmas cakes need to be made a couple of months in advance so that they can mature
When you are really into this baking malarky you could perhaps indulge in some baking parchment. You don't have to get mucky greasing that or the tin. You just line the tin with it. http://www.lakelandlimited.co.uk/product.aspx/!5511_5510
To be honest I'm not convinced about the wiping it and reusing bit, but cakes certainly don't stick to it. You don't have to buy it mailorder as these people have shops. There is one in Solihull.0
