LG (Life’s Good), unless it goes wrong.

My son bought 2 x 22" new LG TV/Monitors for the kids a couple of Months ago. One of them went wrong, he contacted where he purchased them and was told that warranty repairs were handled by LG directly and was given the phone number.
He contacted LG and he was told that a new replacement would be sent. What arrived though was not new, it was dirty and scratched and clearly used. He again contacted LG and was told they would send another one, this also arrived dirty and scratched.
LG told him when he phoned yet again and complained that their policy, which is in their terms and conditions, is that they will either repair or replace with a reconditioned one.
Well if he wanted a reconditioned one he’d have bought one off ebay in the first place and saved himself the cost of a new one.
I don’t know about you but I think most people would expect their TV to be returned repaired and not be in receipt of something that could have been used and abused.

The original online shop can't help or doesn’t want to know because he doesn’t have the original tv so the distance selling regs can’t be enforced unless it can be found. This is unlikely because it’s probably been repaired and sent to someone else as a refurbished unit. Lucky them, 2 Months old and in mint condition.
How long have these refurbished TV’s been used? The screens could have been on 24/7 for all we know and could have come from a grit hole.
We intend on taking this further because LG don’t seem to understand that their warranty is irrelevant and does not supersede statutory rights.

If you buy an LG and it goes wrong you may well find yourself in a similar situation. If that doesn’t appeal to you, DON’T buy LG!
