I have a 10% off food and flowers voucher which came with my M&S credit card statement. Last time I used it on the meal deal it took the 10% off the amount BEFORE the discounts for the meal deal i.e. £17.99 minus 10% not £10 meal deal price minius 10% so I saved £1.79 not £1.

I am sure somebody on here can work out how much I would pay for 6 meal deals taking into account the 25% wine discount and my 10% food voucher........ I can't way too complicated. Thanks. PJ

The steaks I noticed today where all in the £4.50-£5.00 range. That was for two but would not be a huge meal for anyone.

The hunters lamb looked nice. Thats 4 fat chicken thighs in a sauce.

But the best value I noticed today was the medium chickens. All the ones I found where over £5 to about £6.50 and looked pretty big. They would feed four easily with some more veg.

As for the wine. I noticed some more expensive wines in the deal at our local store. Ones not mentioned in the list earlier. Raso something in red and white at £6.49. Should be easy to spot I think they have a bull on the front? (Could be wrong about the bull though). As these are more expensive they should give you a bigger discount as part of the 25% off when you buy 6 making the dine in even cheaper.

Thanks for the grand idea about the wine. Got 4 meal deals inc wine + 2 more wines Cava @ %.59 and another wine @ £4.99 giving a saving of £7.49 felt like a wino with all those bottles
Then the lovely cashier asked if I wanted a M&S credit card, 10 months interst free on purchases (feel a big spend on TV coming up) and 55 days interest free on travel money (great for the holiday in Aug) and a complimentary wine/flowers/chocs opted for an orchid, it seemed rude to refuse so I found myself doing the necessary...oh I am a shopolic MSE way.hehe

I did pretty well this evening, picking up two dine ins and 4 bottles of wine. It all came to 34.72.

Having looked at the receipt however, it looks like two of the bottles I picked up (they were alongside the dine in section) actually clock in at 6.49, whereas thrifty me then chose 4 other bottles at 4.99. I don't know what impact that has on the overall bill, e.g. if I was really looking for the cheapest cheapest deal, then if I had picked up all 6 bottles at 4.99 would it have knocked a couple of quid more off? Unless I have misunderstood and it has made no difference, it might be worth other Money Savers double checking that their meal deal wine is as cheap as the others they pick up, if they are taking advantage of the 6xbottles=25% off. Either way, I'm not really troubled. The cashier did a double take at the discount, and we will be toasting M&S over our chicken this evening!

Thanks for that confirmation. Hubby and I have just worked it out to be about the same, so at £7 per meal for 4 of us (incl. 2 kids - if I get the chickens) including wine is a pretty good deal. I pay over £4 for a chicken each week from Tesco anyway, so M&S here I come! Cheers!

The 6 for 25% off wine deal is exactly that - if you buy 7 bottles then the last bottle checked won't come with the discount (unlike other supermarket deals).

You can buy the 10£ meal deal and 5 extra bottles and get a discount on all the bottles as well as the meal deal discount.
