add/remove programs help needed

Hi, I'm hoping that some lovely person can help me out.

I'm trying to uninstall some programmes on the laptop that don't give me the option to do so in the start menu. I've gone in through control panel to add or remove programs, and the window opens but all i get is Please wait while the list is populated, but its not populating anything...

Is there any way I can get it working again? I have a lot of old phone software and bits and pieces that i no longer need on there that are taking up space...

The free one is excellent and does a pretty good job.

The best way is through the control panel to begin with - for old computer I know it does take a long time but will it not produce a list even after say 30mins? Try get it running while your away from the computer.

Doh, I'd started it about 20 minutes ago and its finally populated a list. I'm such a div!

Don't worry! Just know from experiencing a very slow producing list!
