Natwest £50 Back after 1 yr

About a year and half ago on this web site there was a deal with Natwest. It was either for a first reserve or a current pluss account. In order to get the deal you had to pay so much into the account per month and keep the account open for a year.

I went into the branch at the time and no one was aware of the account. However, after mentioning Martins web site they eventually said they knew it. I opened my account.

A year on I went to collect the deal (I think it was £50) only to find no one in the branch knew about the offer. Because I opened the account when it was new to the branch I have no paper work about the offer. I tried to find the information via the search button but canot fine it. Does any one recal the offer, or can help me by directing me to the information that was on this web site. Thanks so much.

I'm in the same situation now. I had E-savings where you got to pay between £100 to £300 every month which i did for one year. But in the end i didn't receive the reward £50. I remember opening the account by having seen the offer on Natwest website itself which got removed within few days. Now i cant get that money and no one knows about this in their branch.

Looks like its not just me then.

Natwest completely messed this up; there were numerous reports of people not receiving their £50.

The criteria was that you must pay at least £100 per month into a savings account; you would then (in theory) have £50 credited to your account automatically.

I had the same problem, I fulfilled the conditions, but they didn't pay up. Like you, the people in the branch didn't have a clue. I made a complaint (make sure you get a reference for it). They then (eventually) paid the £50, with a further £50 on top.

Edit: See https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1028555 for T&Cs and for lots of people who's had the same experience as you.

I remember it and I got the £50 no problem.

the requirement was that you pay at least £100 into a e-saver account every month BY STANDING ORDER - if it wasn't an SO it didn't count.

Yes, but sadly, in typical Natwest fashion, many people who sent every single payment by standing order (including myself) did not get the £50 until they'd complained about it.

I can assure you that they don't have a matey who goes through every eSaver account to see if they had a standing order going in monthly, if the computer failed to recognise it then clearly something wasn't done right

Yes, something certainly wasn't right with Natwest's computer system - it completely messed up, and so did fail to recognise many of the accounts that had standing orders going in.
