Tech Heads needed Laptops problems Dell 1545

Hi all,
I have been given two dell 1545 laptops both with a broken screen. I have purchased new screens for them and connected them all up but I get no display.
Laptop one powers on and I get 5 flashing orange lights, when I take the battery out I get 2 error beeps. The backlight lights up but no display and no post screen.
The other one I get no backlight no error beeps nothing.
Any idears what could eb the problem.
