You would think that BT would be trying a little harder nowadays to keep customers happy, but you would be wrong. Our business line has been out of order all day and we are not able to receive any calls at all.
The kind people at BT have offered to divert the line to another phone for us, but as our mobile phones don't have a signal at work, this is not possible. If they divert your phone to another number, they do not pay ANY compensation at all, so not only do they make more money by charging you for diverted calls to another number, but they don't have to pay the measly compensation they owe you either.
One of the operators even suggested that it would be a week before they can fix the problem. Ludicrous! Is it any wonder that they lose customers?

We are a business line and our phone has been out of order like yours has before - once it took almost a week to be mended - with the phone line down it meant our broadband connection was also down so we were without phone or internet all that time. During that time they rerouted all calls to my Mums mobile phone - though we do have some signal it isnt good. They charged us each time a call had been diverted. I got on the phone to them and said that it wasnt our fault the phone had been down etc and why should we pay for the diverted calls and rental etc while the lines were down. In the end they refunded us the money for the line rental for the time the phone line wasnt working and also for the cost of the billed calls which they had diverted.
Is the call diversion not meant to be free anyway?Weight Loss - 102lb0 -
This is madness, the whole idea that people get a 'business line' opposed to a residential line is so that your response times are meant to be faster than those of their normal customers.
With any business, if your phone line is your main source of business and depending how much you use it, it's always best to have a backup plan or pay for the added service and maintenance contracts offered. I know it's not ideal when you're counting every penny as it is but I'd definitely recommend it.0
