There is! The programme is called Hyper Cam 2 http://download.cnet.com/HyperCam/3000-13633_4-10004511.html?!!!!!mncol

The slight problem is that the voice and display is out of sync. Maybe record sound with a different programme (eg. audacity) if possible. Never tried so do test it beforehand.

Cnet has other programmes too but I've never tried them so can't say if they're good or not.

I use Tunebite (tunebite.com) from rs audials. It works extremly well, but is a commercial program, but not to expensive. I had a quick try of camstudio pasted above, and it appeared to work ok, although it didn't appear to capture / process streaming video as well Tunebite. May not be an issue for you requirement.

Sorry to say this but if you do not get permission from the lecturer you are breaking the law by recording it. If they find out they can remove you from the course and you can be blacklisted.

You can also be reported to your ISP and they can blacklist you to. Get permission.

If you stream something you have recorded that is not yours for other that is serious breach of copyright. There is one thing recording it for your own use and another to stream it.

Do ask for permission obviously beforehand - they'll probably realise you're recording them if you have the programme running.

They may say no which would mean you won't be able to record... Except maybe using a camera as a video recording the screen - which is wrong to do and not advised but...
  • Well, I guess that as long as he doesn't share the presentation recorded, he doesn't do anything illegal, especially because this is just for later documentation, which in my opinion is like as you record a class or a course when you're at school. Maybe I'm wrong but still how many people are recording nowadays important courses for later view or documentation? And especially with those recording tools which capture the video presentation just like we all did in old days when we used to record music or shows on tapes, right? We just wanted to do that for later playback and for our entertainment. But, of course with the condition we never share them with other people, not even with friends, family and so on, because is illegal.
I use Tunebite too, but not exactly to capture or record audio and video streams, but to convert audio and video files and works pretty well, but anyway, using a stream recorder software is just like you're recording the presentation with a video camera, but there is a huge difference between them: with video camera you'll have awful files, while with a recorder tool like Tunebite, you'll get the same quality as the original file is.

Utter nonsense. The other part I'll agree with, but to say your ISP can "blacklist" you...?
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it
