My apologies if this has already been posted.

when signing up for the petrolbusters site. Why not sign up for emails alerts for home and work.(ie enter two postcodes)
I have recently done this and managed to save a couple of pence a litre.

thats pretty much the long and the short of it - I believe martin even asked if it was possible to take over the running of it but there was some problem with the implications of the transfer if memory serves me correctly.

the explanation (such as it was) was sent out by the aa shortly before they stopped sending the alert and martin followed up with some comments in his tips newsletter not long after that - if I stumble across any links to the articles/info I'll come back to post them

    hth :)

lol I think I was being generous to AA in my memory of the version of events:

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1101933747,88991,

"DISGRACEFUL AA. IT’D RATHER KILL PETROLBUSTERS THAN SAVE IT. The AA’s announced it’s closing AA Petrolbusters, its wonderful website that finds your cheapest local petrol station. Desperate to save a unique resource I wanted to keep it running, and could muster a fee to buy it. It refused to consider it, preferring to scrap Petrolbusters rather than even let it live. "

  • In answer to the questions above regarding alternatives to AA petrolbusters, one that I have found is Overdrive at

    http://www.overdrive.co.uk/fuel_table.htm

This site gives exactly the same information that the AA one supplied previously
