Don't feel guilty about buying essential clothes Adam, you can't go out in the buff after all!
Well.... LOL
I did spend more than I should, anyway, I've paid more this month than any other month since LBM so, I guess I shouldn't be too hard on myselfAdam's diary - My Debt Diary - The Challenge | LBM May 2010 with £23,343.35 | £16,141.46 to go...
Cleared: £7,369.16 / 30.85% | Current DFD: Oct2012 from Jan2014 | July repaid: £600/£800
Goals: Aug-11 37% | Nov-11 60% | Feb-11 67% | May-12 76% | Aug-12 86% | Dec-12 debt free0 -
I know what you mean about feeling guilty but you shouldn't.
I was like that at the beginning of debt-busting - I wasn't ever going to go out, never going to buy anything new and I was going to live off value beans and toast whilst doing nothing but work!
I think if you could be debt-free in say a year this actually wouldn't be too unrealistic of an attitude but when debt busting has the potential to last two to three years it's not really feasible to live like that.
I think that (despite my diary title!) I've come to terms with that. I'm still going to do everything in my power to bust this debt as fast as possible, but I'm also not going to beat myself up if I have to have a new pair of shoes or have the occasional night out. However, I will try to still spend as little as possible on these things!
Hope that makes you feel a bit less guiltyDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -

Thanks Bec! It was just a lot of money, that's all. Anyway - it's done now and not like I can take them back (I don't want to anyway)

This is why I love flexi-time, I'm gone by 4:30 or earlier sometimes!
Mind you, I do start at 7:30 in the morningDebt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
The first thing I saw when I came back to this dairy is Woo's comment about Adam being naked :rotfl:, I had to wonder what on earth was going on!!!
Don't feel guilty Adam, if you need them then you need them. Like Becs says, you can't deny yourself everything and sometimes it is worth spending the extra to get something that is going to last.
Very happily married on 10th April 2013
