Don't really agree ... but on the other hand, I don't mind taking a lot of effort with my money. Not every one's idea of fun but it keeps me off street corners.

Took the "advice" and invested half (well actually, all the £15k but my wife will wait until the A&L online saver accout rate drops in July, before deciding whether to do the same).

Be interesting to see how quickly they process my online application (NS&I) and whether I end up meeting the June deadline? Tried ringing call centre but wait time indicated 15-20 mins!

If you did it today, it will be value today. You may have to sign a form they send you if this is your first time; they may want money laundering checks - but it will be dated today.
