Redundancy payment and employment tribuneral

Hi posted a few times before but here is a quick description of where I am.
I am 30 weeks pregnant
getting made redundant in 6 weeks
Had my first consultation
Brought up issues that I have which was a job was not advertised internally as per company policy which means I missed out on applying for the post (My dept advertises all jobs internally and feel that this was put out externally to avoid me applying for the post due to my preganancy) Also another policy not adhered to regarding a flexible working application that I put in. No response ever given and this was 3 months ago.
They are going to address my issue and come back to me with a response.
My question is if I am not happy with my response and decide to put in a offical grievence will this delay me getting made redundant.
I am relying on my redundancy money to live on throughout my mat leave and worried that if I escalate this then It will delay me getting my payment.
any advice appreciated.

I have a 5 year old and the request was to start 6 weeks after I had my baby - if that helps0

I am slightly confused by this. Do you want redundancy? You said that you will need to live on the redundancy payout. If so, forget your complaints and their failings and go for it. Then you can move on.
If you still want to work for your current employer then you will have to ask yourself what is it you aim to achieve by raising grievances.
I was in a similar situation myself and when I was made redundant I decided to take the money and move on.
This is a tough one and only you can decide so good luck. For info re Tribunals and Employment issues try direct gov. They have lots of useful information there.0 -
I was wondering what it is you want. If you want the money then accept the situation You coold got to an ET and you may ultimately get more money but it is unlikely that you will get the money quickly and probably will not get a reference0

You need to ring ACAS or go online and lodge a tribunal claim. This sounds like discrimination on grounds of pregnancy. If there's a job available and you're 'at risk' of redundancy, you should have first 'pop' at it. They should extend your contract to cover statutory maternity leave at the very least.Smile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

Sorry for the delay in coming back to you.
In answer to your question no, I dont want redudnancy, however my request was to take 6 weeks Mat leave and work from home/office from then on. When this was first discussed I was told that they were sure I could work from home - if not in this job then doing something else. This was in an informal conversation when I told them I was pregnant. I never got any offical response to my flexible working application form.
Roll on 12 weeks later and we are told that we are now all getting made redundant. During my first consultation I was asked if I wanted to take my Redundancy at the start or the end of my Mat leave. I stated the start as I need the money to live on, which they said was fine. During the meeting I raise issues about policys not getting adhered to regarding my Flexible working and regarding a job vacancy that was advertised externally for 2 days only. Company policy is all jobs are to be advertised internally - this wasnt done. Someone in the office was asked to apply for the position and to keep it quiet. I would have applied for this position.
Got a response today regarding my issues and they have made excuses all the way through it a lot of which is inaccurate. They are also saying that I will now not be made redundant until the end of my Maternity leave - can they do this? My job will definetly being made redundant as is my collegues. I think they are doing this to make me back down. They know I need my redundancy money to live on!!
I know a lot of you will think take the redundancy money and shut up - but it is statatory - just over a months wage!!0 -
Not totaly up on the various payments related to maternity.
Some posts say thta it is better not to be employed sometimes dpending on the materinty pay over the othe benifits.
But if they delay do you get another years service?
You also accrue holiday during maternity so thats a bit more money.0 -

If they delay I will get an extra 2k as I accrue another year and holidays ect - but dont think I can financially cope without the money. Like i said before, I never really planned to take a long mat leave as I was going to work from home.0
