Charges on Mastercard Debit

Hi,

My bank recently gave me a Mastercard Debit (which I never asked for), to replace my Maestro card.

However, I have noticed that when I am purchasing apps for my mobile phone (Android Market, using Google Checkout) in USD, I am being charged £1.50 per transaction.

I am 99% sure that I never had this charge when I ordered things (from a different source, but in Dollars nonetheless) previously?

Is there anything I can get my bank to do about this, as the app I purchased was only £1.45, and I was charged an extra £1.50, more than the app itself!!

Thanks

Stu
