Virgin Money Wont Allow A Balance Transfer?!

I've just paid my 6k limit card off and as I received a letter a few days ago offering me 0% on transfers till november 10. They've just told me I cant do transfers only spend on the card as they've reviewed my account! How irresponsible is that!

They probably wanted you to do a BT while there was still money owing on your account, due to the way that MBNA apply payments. Now that you have a zero balance they don't stand to make so much profit off you.

Thats what im thinking! Just complained, waiting upto 48hrs for a manger to ring me back with answer as to how its responsible lending what they've done! I've been bitten before by mbna and swore i'd never return, just a shame the 9 month 0% (£0 fee) deal last year was irresistible!

they dont have to lend, it will be in the t&cs that they have a right to refuse
  • They will be seeing you as a high risk customer and as per their T&C's can withdraw any facility at any time.
Have you missed any payments on any credit facility you have within the last couple of years as this could be a factor?

If you have just paid off all your balance they may reduce your limit now within the next couple of months especially if they are classing you as a risk.

Have you tried transferring online? Many times the info that the customers advisors give are flawed if not completely wrong!
