Difficult one. Personally I would tell them that you would gladly refund them once you have received the item back. So as soon as it arrives you will inform them

I think by the tone of the contacts no matter what you do you will receive bad feedback so I would just take this and when you get it put a polite factual measured reply

Added*Just realise no return address (thanks Soolin). your going to end up out of pocket. Remember put a return address on everything it takes 2 seconds and can save a lot of problems

If it wasn't tracked you have no proof at all that a delivery was attempted, many areas are notorious for never carding for parcels waiting.

In that case you will have to refund the buyer as you are going to lose a paypal chargeback anyway.

AS for the 'no return address' why on earth not. At least if you had put a return address on you would have had a chance of at least getting the item back so you could resell it. With no address the chances of you getting it back are very slim and so you lose the item and the payment.

I would wait for the top to arrive back the the only thing you can do especially if they paid by Paypal is refund them, you dont have a hoice unfrtunately, and with Ebay leaving the doors wide open to buying scam merchants you cant even leave them a negative feedback!

Even if the top does not arrive back your still going to end up refunding them, sometime you can do everything the right way and still it will go pearshaped! The joys of Ebay and Paypal!

THey really need some decent competition really thought we would have seen Virgin auctions or Easy auctions by now what a shame there is no big name interested in giving them a run for their money!

    Best of luck..........

The big names like Yahoo etc have already sold of their UK auction sites. Ebay UK wasn't always this big though, Freeserve used to be huge, but they also gave up and referred all their users to ebay.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I thought you had 3 weeks to collect a item sent by standard delivery before it was returned.

I'm sure I'd love to buy on a site where I could just give my money to sellers with no guarantee that I'd ever get anything for it.

I tell you what- I'll sell you a nice new laptop, a bargain at £200, but if it doesn't arrive then nope, sorry no refunds.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

I think it was intended to show that Ebay and Paypal rules DO work, and very well if you abide by them. For all those that moan, there are millions more who would have been totally shafted if it wasn't for the rules. They protect buyers and sellers alike.

Search for the receipt! If you have the tracking number, it will show up as buyer not collecting the item, or you could claim from RM for losing it.

(I thought recorded delivery items had to have a return address on???_
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
