New Build Snagging - any advice?

As you're not paying for any particular level of claimed competence (e.g. the knowledge, expertise and skills set of a member of RICS behind a survey) then you would likely have a hard time proving professional negligence if a snagger missed something. Indeed, you'd be far better off persuing the builder as that is ultimately who your grievance would be against!

Sorry to hijack the thread.
We move into our new house in just under 3 weeks, I've got no problem doing the snagging myself as I've been in the building trade for a long time and have got a snagging list already to be unleashed.
I do have one question though, when we viewed the house last week there was a 6 inch drop from the front door down to the integral garage door and it wasnt a nice slope, more like a lump !
There is no reason why this lump/bump should be there as the house was built on perfectly flat ground, where do I stand if I say I'm not happy and that we want the ground levelled off, even though its been tarmaced.
You can see it in this photo....0 -

I cannot imagine how such a massive bump could otherwise inadvertently arise, even by modern developer's standards. If the ground at that point was level it'd be at least 2 courses down from the underside of the sill hence I imagine they'd have to construct a ramp anyway.

Wheelchair access?

I cant imagine it would be anything to do with that as you have a straight run in up the drive, if anything the bump would be a hinderance to a wheelchair user.0 -
Perhaps we're seeing the photograph differently? To me it looks like the driveway gradually rises up towards the doorway...? How would that be a hindrance to a wheelchair user?
Have you asked the developer's why it is the way it is?

Sorry, I see where your coming from now !
My point is why the need for the lump in the first place, its as if they should have gone down another 6 inches on the footings, the drive should be perfectly flat, wheel chair users wouldnt have needed any slope at all then.
I did mention it to the site manager last week and he mumbled something about gas pipes, which is a load of cobblers.0
