Tent poles snapped...why??

Hi all I recently went camping and used our Sportura Villa 8 man tent. We set the tent up and about 5 mins the poles began to snap one by one..we are unsure why but my OH had 'fixed' them. They were never colour coded so we could have mixed them up, they didn't look as though they were to big..any ideas what went wrong or how we can replace them?
Thanks in advance

You should be able to replace them, go to any reasonable camping shop and take them in and they can probably make them up for you there and then.
We've had poles break before, more so as the tent has become older. We've recently bought a new one and the poles generally seem a better quality though.
I've not heard of the make of your tent I'm afraid, but if they're a good brand, I'd be phoning them up to complain I think- assuming it is it's first outing? You of course expect to get several uses from a tent and it's parts.
Have you tried googling an "erection" video? May be worth checking you did actually put it up correctly/poles were in the right places?0 -
