Grout cleaners

Both kitchen and conservatory floors are tiled but the grey grout is a bit grubby and stained in places. Are grout cleaners effective? What about those grout colourings - are they worth the expense and hassle?

i haven't tried grout cleaners but I purchased one of those grout pens. It's like a big felt tip pen you just run along the lines of grout. Worked fine for us when we were selling.

That sounds good in terms of ease of use, but I wonder how good the results are in the long term? Anyone have any experience with grout pens? :)

  • I'm a great believer in bleach.

Ahah, but I did watch that sad programme "How to be a perfect housewife" with Anthea Turner (had nothing better to do) the other night and she recommended a mixture of bicarbonate of soda with a bit of water and a toothbrush, work it in, leave for a while then clear it out. It seemed to work, but quite labour intensive.

The programme did make me laugh though!!!
