Shower question

Just wanted some advice
Have a gravity/traditional boiler system and the flow from the shower is poor. Also I have an old bath/shower mixer tap which leaks when the shower is turned on unless the taps is turned to the maximum. There are no problem having baths.

Just wondering what would be the ideal solution to be able to have a good shower.

Option 1: Install shower pump and replace bath taps

Option 2: Install a new electric shower and leave current system to use when having baths.

Are there other options?

I have been reading about the pros and cons of both the options i have listed but still undecided so just wanted to hear MSE forum readers opinions.

Also would appreciate if anyone had opinions on likely cost of above options

Also finding a reliable plumber to do the job. My plan was to use someone registered with CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering). Is that the most reliable option.

installing an electric shower is probably the best/cheapest option.
any handyman can plumb the shower in. you will need a proper sparky to wire it up though.

I'll be facing the same problem soon. Another possible option is a power shower with an integrated pump, like this one http://www.aqualisaquartzshower.co.uk/aqualisa-aquastream.php

An electric shower may be expensive to run. So, option 1 seems cheaper - I can install a mixer tap with shower myself.
