Is there anything at all I can claim?

Hi, I've not been on here before but wondered if anyone could answer this for me? (I suspect I know the answer though.... :()

I might be redundant soon.

I am 2 years 3 months off receiving state pension.
I have the required 30 years NI contributions.
I am paying into private pension (13yrs so far, due to pay out in 14mths) - Forecast is £1,600 pa  I could continue the payments if redundant.
Current (downsized) job is only approx £12k
I have no mortgage having downsized and relocated.
Savings (my 'other pension') are quite a bit over £16k (difference in value of this and previous house).

I am single.

I would seriously be looking for another job.

Question is..... is there anything I could claim if I had no income for 2yrs 3 mths?

Thanks for reading.

You would be able to claim contribution based JSA for up to 6 months which would depend on your contributions in the 2007/8 and 2008/9 tax years.

After the 6 months it would be means tested.

    Thanks....

there's no point in me jumping up and down, saying "I've worked and paid in all my life and never claimed a penny how will I run the house when I'm old and they'll only have to pay for me anyway when I run out of money" then? :rotfl::rotfl:

Mind you, I don't know what I'm laughing for. It's pretty scary from where I'm standing.
