hi
i have just come back from the newcastle bs and was offered a stocks and shares "protected" isa. the protection is that the isa follows the market (as you know) and (hopefully) goes up, but if the market goes down, the value wont go below 80% of the highest point it reached. the example i was given was that say the isa reaches £10000 and the next day the market takes a dive and the value drops to £6000, i will still get 80% of the highest value it ever reached, 80% of £10000 = £8000. i cant find it on the newcastle site.
what do you guys think?
