  • Dont worry,
there is no reason they should neg you and even if they do please remember that if you leave a calm response to the neg buyers will be able to see who is really at fault.

Just reply that you do not accept collection from home as a service and you will post to her as per your listing details should she win the auction.

IF she doesnt pay then start a Non Paying Bidder report and follow the instructions to receive your fees final value back, if you re list & sell you'll also get the 2nd lot of listing fees back.

If she does pay and it's by paypal make sure you get a proof of posting slip to cover up to £32 or send Recorded delivery if higher so you dont get stung with a chargeback.

It may turn out that they were just asking on the offchance and the sale will go through without hassle.

However, if you have any other problems with them them I suggest going to the Ebay communities forums (Q&A Board) as those guys are full of great advice and despite the (0) on their id's they are mostly high feedback buyers/sellers with a lot of experience on ebay who are just using other id's for the boards.

    Good luck :o)

Recorded delivery only covers up to £32 also it just requires a signature. If it is more than £32 then it needs to be sent special delivery.

If you do not wish for the item to be collected, and personally I don't like people turning up at my house to collect, then tell them no, post only. However suggest to him that you would have no objection if he wishes to cancel his bid.

That way he can opt out if he chooses, and if he completes he shows he is happy to pay for postage.

It appears they're keen to win the suit, so they've put a bid in, and are asking if collection is a possibility so that they can save a bit of money. No need to worry.

yeah, if someone lives close-ish to me I'll normally ask for local collection - to save on postage fees, and it saves the seller paypal fees too.

Only one person has ever refused - their perogative, and I respected their decision to do so.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.
  • I've never refused a collection but do dread it because they are rarely punctual and seem to think I have a few hours spare to listen to their experiences with ebay. One person emailed me when she arrived home and demanded a refund because it wasn't what she really wanted.

I never offer the option of collecting in person, but I have had a few people ask and I have always been happy to let them collect in person.

I can appreciate that people have their reasons for not wanting strangers at their door. I can say from personal experience I have never had a problem and I find that feedback from such buyers is usually glowing compared to the the more mundane feedback that is usual.

If your reason for not wanting someone at your door is safety then please consider asking a friend or relative to be present when the buyer arrives, I usually opt for this if the item is expensive and a lot of money is changing hands to be on the safe side. I have never had the slightest problem as a result of making a transaction on my door step, I don't invite them in, and they don't expect to be invited in, I usually find the buyer is more apprehensive and embarrassed by the whole affair than I am.

If you feel unhappy about allowing them to collect, say no. No need to agonise about it.

Worst case scenario - they will stop bidding. They won't win the auction, and they won't be able to leave a neg.

Not the end of the world.
